About Dangerously Poetic Press

Dangerously Poetic is an incorporated community group seeking to encourage, publish and promote quality poetry from the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia.

Dangerously Poetic considers our role, as promoters of poetry, an important part of community building.

Many DP members are long established poets and the first priority is to give the members an opportunity to get their own work published. To this end, the collective has set up a standards panel so that work offered for publication is of the highest quality.

DPP has published nine books

You can now buy ‘All the Way Home’, ‘Paperbarks’, ‘Sand Between the Toes’ & ‘Rainswayed Night’ through PayPal from our Publications page.

Paperbarks‘ by Jean Ringland launched in 2008 has been a best seller and our latest ‘All the Way Home‘, our fifth anthology, features poems by 19 poets and the iconic house paintings of Robyn Sweaney.

DPP began with the Dangerously Poetic monthly readings, now held on the third Sunday every other month in Bangalow. These readings have been successfully running for nine years. Past programs have featured both local and visiting poets. We also enjoy theme readings such as great love poems on Valentine’s Day when famous poems are performed by poets and actors.

Contact us to be included on our email list for the latest readings and events.

DPP also offers workshops on all phases of the creation process, from inspiration to fine tuning your work, from how to submit poems for print publication and contests, to how to perform your poem at readings.

Dangerously Poetic Press gratefully acknowledges the support of the Northern Rivers Writers Centre.
